Episode #34 – Parenting Relationships with David Shaw

David Shaw developed a unique view of parenting. David’s first attempt as a family man began stationed in Japan. After his marriage failed, his ex-wife with baby moved back to the States. David’s daughter was adopted after the mom remarried.

In the meantime David met his second wife and had two more daughters. Now stateside himself the marriage failed and he became a “shared custody” dad and saw his daughters on the weekend and other times when he could.

Now happily married with his third wife of 20 years, David has a son and another daughter that he is with full time. He reestablished contact with his first child when she was sixteen, is still involved with his second set of children, and he has obviously been an active part of his son and last daughters lives from the start.

In this episode of Through a Therapist’s Eyes David shares how he has managed these dynamic relationships at different stages with these children himself and how they have all become an integrated family.
