Listen for the following takeaways from the Show:
- Chris cannot diagnose Craig because they are friends – too much of a relationship to provide an unbiased clinical evaluation.
- If you are unsure if you have ADD, go see a professional to check yourself out. Not a friend, not a colleague, not a family member.
- Current environment (processed food, chemicals, social media) could be a reason for the higher increase of possible ADD.
- The mental health science around ADD is relatively new so we are now able to address previously undiagnosed cases.
- ADHD is no longer, ADD now has 3 types: Hyperactivity, Inattention, and combined type.
- Inattention – No focus, unorganized, and hard to finish tasks.
- Hyperactivity – Fidgety, very active, hard to relax or be quiet.
- Combined – Characteristics of both types.
- It is about how your brain processes the data that it receives.
- When Kids have one of these, the problem is productivity.
- When it is for Adults, it is more about how they interact with other people.
- It is hard to see ourselves and our problem.
