He gives us a history lesson in why he started coaching and where Unbeatable Mind came from. Hint…it deals with the high success rate of candidates that complete Navy Seals training. Then he goes over the Big 4 that are used to instill and grow your mental toughness.

  • Craig gives us some history on how he got involved with Unbeatable Mind.
  • He they gives us incite to the Big 4 that he goes through: Breath Control, Positivity, Visualization, and Goal Setting (micro goals).
  • He thinks that Breath Control is one of the most important piece of the Big 4.
  • This allows you to easily move through to positivity and visualization.
  • He follows a 20 minute daily routine that he breaks down into 5 minute section going between breathing, positivity and visualization.
  • To help with Positivity, he implements WIRM: Witness, Interdict, Redirect, Maintain.

  • Another reason that breath is important is that is dictates how your body reacts. Controlling your breath controls your body.
  • Fast Breath – Engages your bodies natural Fight or Flight tendency and an induce Anxiety.
  • Slow Breath – Relaxes and helps calm you.
  • There are 2 types of Visualization – Mental Project and Mental Rehearsal.
  • Micro Goals are when you breakdown your big goals so you can make continual progress and can help minimize/remove the overwhelm you might experience.
  • Each time you accomplish a micro goal, you need to remember to celebrate them to encourage you to keep moving forward.
